Our Team

Brian Chait is the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager of Rampart Funds and President of Lynx Capital Group, an independent portfolio and wealth management company formed in 1996. Mr. Chait has over 35 years of investment experience and brings a unique global perspective to long-term value investing on behalf of his clients.

Prior to forming Rampart and Lynx, Brian served as Co-CIO and Partner of a regional Cleveland based investment management firm with over $1.5 billion in client assets under management. Brian worked with high net worth individuals and institutional clients to help diversify and risk manage their portfolio for long-term growth and capital preservation.

Mr. Chait was a co-portfolio manager of The Clarion Fund, a hedge fund focusing on small capitalized stocks. Brian was responsible for the short side and hedging the portfolio with derivatives.
Brian served as CFO, and CEO of a number of national middle companies, one of which, while under his direction, was acquired by General Electric.

Mr. Chait is a well-known speaker at numerous conventions and seminars on dividend growth stock investing hedge funds and ETF tactical tilt investing. He has spoken on topics, such as; market overview (including sector recommendations), portfolio construction (product type and allocation), risk management, and reducing volatility by utilizing options as well as identifying alternatives to fixed rate bonds.

Mr. Chait is a three time winner of Forbes Magazine’s Love Only One Stock contest for his short ideas and was invited back 5 years in a row as a runner-up, holding a longevity record during that time among all participants.

He completed a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with honors from the University of South Africa and is a Chartered Accountant (CA)SA.
